Lots happening

Well yesterday was a very exciting day as my new niece and nephew made their debut into the world. They are absolutely adoring. Nicholas made his way at 10:42 a.m. weighing 5lbs. 1oz. and Katherine made her way at 10:44 a.m. weighing 6lbs. 13oz. Both are doing wonderful, they were 4 weeks early and are in the regular nursery. Congrats to my sister and brother in-law.

I had a mini meeting with my son's teacher today in the pick-up lane, we were suppose to have a meeting yesterday but with Nick & Katie's debut I had to cancel. So Mikey will start tutoring next week after school 2 days a week. He's not doing so well with language arts, I really hope the tutoring will help him. I want him to do well in school and succeed.

Today its been cold, cold!!! We now have sleet falling and school is canceled for tomorrow.

Above is what I wrote on Tuesday, I just never got around to finishing it. So we've had an exciting week and its been great. The kids enjoyed their day home from school and Michael was home as well, he couldn't get out to get to work. That was fine because about 11am everything was melting and I decided I was going to the hospital to see the babies and he had to stay home and watch our 3. My trip was easy, it's only a 20 min. drive and I had no problems at all, most all of the ice was melted except passing under overpasses which was not too bad. I was very happy to help out with the babes. All got to go home a day early, I know my sister is happy to be home. I always hated being at the hospital after having my kids. When I had Lexi we stayed 3 nights and I was so happy to finally go home. With Mikey I stayed 3 nights also I believe, and I hated it. I was able to be discharged after 2 days but Mikey was staying so I did also. With Kaylee it was my shortest stay we stayed 1 night and were discharged the next evening. Anyway so my sister and the babies are home and doing well. We stopped in on them last night since her husband was going to work and I wanted to make sure she had everything she needed.

Today Miss Kay has her 3 year check up at 10a.m., I really can't believe she is 3!!! It's amazing how fast they grow and change into little people. Right now she is still snug as a bug in my bed. She must be tired after taking care of her cousins last night. It won't be long until she is going to school, boohoo! What will I do for 3 hours a day without any kids? It will be so very strange, ya know. It will be really nice to go to the grocery store all by myself and not have to worry about someone crying wanting to get toys or to be held or sit in the basket. Well I better get off of here, its a quarter till 8 and I need to wake Kay to get her ready for her appt.

Rainbow

This morning me and Kay took the older two to school and since we've been good all week about eating at home I treated us to McDonalds for breakfast. Also because while dropping the kids off at school Kay started wailing, she wanted to eat breakfast at school, but mean mommy said not today. While pulling into the drive at McD's we spotted a very beautiful rainbow, I think it was a first for Kay to ever see. She was in the back seat say bow, beautiful!! I wish I had-had my camera on me, it would have made a wonderful picture. :(

Speaking of pictures I wish it was easy to get pictures of my kids, they always have a funny face, they turn their back to you(Kay is famous for that) or they grin so big and have their head faced to the sky that you can see their brain thru their nose.

Here's some examples

Mom's going to take my picture, looking, looking, mom's pushing the shutter button, turn... got her

Again, turn, Mom's got yet another picture of my backside

Oh this makes for a wonderful picture

Cheese, look no beautiful eyes.

I don't think my son's picture above with his eyes closed was on purpose, but his sister's was!! She's evil I tell ya. Really though I have more pictures than I can count of someone turning around or closing their eyes, or cheesing so big it looks like their face is going to crack. But I do have some good photos too.....

I also have some funny pictures, like the "Something about Mary" hairdo.

Although its not what it was in the movie, my son put a crap load of real hair gel in his hair trying to make himself a mohawk.

Well I really got way off topic of rainbows, oh well, I shared some pictures and had a good time.

The pick up lane

I love that I have school aged children, I love taking them to school in the mornings and dropping them off and not seeing their lovely little faces for 8 hours a day. They get to socialize and learn and talk someone elses ear off. I'm not trying to be mean or come across like I don't like my kids, I do, I love them but everyone needs a break. And I'm only sending 2/3 of my clan off everyday, at least for another 1.5 years, till the other 1/3 is old enough.
Maybe I have other parents that can really agree but I hate picking my kids up from school, its a nightmare every single day. Some of the parents coming to get their kids act like they are more important than everyone else. I normally get to the school 15-20 minutes before school lets out so I could get a good spot in-line for pick up and I was leaving the school parking lot 10-15 minutes after school had been let out. It's really crazy everyone tries to cut in front of you and several parents make a everyday habit of getting out of the line and into the exit line and stop to pick up kids, which rudely holds up the exit line because you have wait for little Dick or Jane to get themselves into the car, plus their book bag.
I've been very tempted to let my children walk half way home and I would pick them up but I don't trust my son enough to not get ran over. I'm sure he would pick on Lexi and just cause more fights. I really wish they would fix the pickup situation at the school.
OK ranting over. Till tomorrow.

It's a Mommy's world

It's a Mommy's world, at least mine is anyway, I'm a mom to 3 beautiful children. Alexis my oldest is 8 and such a smarty pants. She is in the gifted and talented program at school. She loves to read and play school with her brother, oh and we can't forget she's already boy crazy. I guess that's normal, right? Michael is 6, my middle child he is going to be such a heart breaker when he is older. He can be such a boy, rough and mean to his sisters, but turn around and he's giving hugs and kisses out of nowhere. He tries really hard to love reading like his older sister but would rather play with his toys. Kaylee is my baby and she is 3. In fact she refers herself as a baby, I try to get her to agree that she's a big girl now but she still says "No, baby". She really loves Dora the explorer, so much she loves to act just like her. She's started to branch out a little and get interested in barbie and my little ponies, but the Dora addiction is there.
