Done

Yesterday I mailed off for a packet from the texas department of public safety. It's called a parent taught drivers education packet! Yikes! Lexi will be 15 in a few short months so I am preparing. I looked into local driving schools and the price is ridiculous. Granted if we used a school we would get a break on insurance cost but the schools are outrageous!
Lexi is excited and I know she will do well. I will be her instructor so please pray for me! Ha! She is most excited that I will teach her and not dad. I gave her a printed drivers ed book yesterday and told her to begin to familiarize herself with it.
This will be a whole new territory of parenting for us. After we get her packet we have to choose an online course which we have pretty much narrowed down. Then we can begin teaching. She can't drive until she has a learners permit, and she can't get that until she is 15. Once she has that we can start the many hours of driving. Then after she turns 16 she will be able to get her drivers license. Things have changed since I got my license. She will be required to complete a driving test, I didn't have to do that. I was required to take a test at the dmv. They actually offered the test on the computer or paper, you got 3 chances. I took the computer twice failing, the last I decided to take the paper test. I passed with flying colors. I think the fact my whole drivers ed class was done on paper learning it was easier and what I was use to. If my parents had taught me I would have had to do a driving test.

Not a resolution

The past two weeks I have been exercising. Not everyday like I would want to but it's a start. The weather has been an issue. Too cold to take the twins out. But I've been trying to stay active and not just sit around all day. I did not make a new years resolution. I just want to be healthier. I am tired of being flabby! So I am exercising and trying to eat better. More veggies and less fat. My downfall is my coffee with creamer and sugar and drinking soda. Yesterday I really ate really well.
I am thinking of getting a bike so I can go for rides. But I'm still trying to weigh out the pros and cons.

New Car!!

We got a new car a couple of weeks ago. We really needed a second car and although we didn't want a second car payment we had no choice if we wanted a good reliable car. So I gathered lots of information for different car lots and as soon as Mike got home off we went.
Although I had a nice list compiled, the first lot we stopped at was where we found our new car. We ended up with a 2014 Ford Fiesta SE. Anyone who knows me, knows that I really don't  like Ford. But I believe we got a really good car and a really good deal. It had everything we were looking for, good gas mileage, low miles and newer. I think we are both happy with our choice.
Lexi is especially excited since she will more than likely learn to drive in that car. Oh why do they have to grow up. One of my kids driving is not something I am looking forward to.

3 is the best

A few weeks ago two little monsters turned 3! I truly can't believe you 2 are three. Their birthday was on a Friday and like Kaylees birthday we invited everyone over. We even had hot dogs and links cooked. Well my sister canceled since they were sick. So we just planned on my parents coming. Well sadly they ended up canceling. My dad was really late coming in from work. So it was just us. Which was ok, just not the same.
We ate and then sang happy birthday. They really enjoyed trying to blow their candles out. Then we let them open gifts. Harley really enjoyed his mack truck with all his cars and Ella loved her hair playset.
They had a great birthday and while I wish everyone had been here with us to celebrate they had an awesomely wonderful day.

3 things about Ella...
1. Sweet, you always want to cuddle or be held by mommy or daddy.
2. Funny, you do little things to push peoples buttons to get them to laugh.
3. Verbal, you speak so good and just amaze us with your vocabulary

3 things about Harley...
1. Loving, you sometimes show your loving side but giving cuddles and it's sweet.
2. Smart, you can tell me any color or letter name.
3. Funny, like your twin you try to push buttons to get a reaction from people.

I really can't believe you two are 3 years old. It's been a fast 3 years I can say that. Love seeing you 2 growing by leaps and bounds.

Love you Ellie and Har

9 is awesome!

On January 20th, Kaylee turned 9! She had a great birthday. We got her a new bicycle which we let her pick out and I believe she made an awesome choice. We got her a few things to open on her birthday as well. Her Grammi and Grandpa came over to celebrate as well as Aunt Jen and cousins Nicky and Katie. We did this on her actual birthday, she didn't want to celebrate over the weekend. So it was a waiting game for everyone to show up and then a rush since the next day was a school day/work day. She had a great day and was very happy to share it with everyone.

9 things I love about Kaylee...
1. You are caring to others
2. Funny, you have a great sense of humor.
3. Love, so loving to everyone
4. Shy, you show your shyness sometimes and it's truly beautiful
5. Exciting, always happy about the little things
6. Unique, you have a way about you that makes you YOU
7. Willing to help out when asked
8. Crazy at times which is a good thing.
9. Different, you are you just like you should be!

I love you Kaylee!
