A week

A week into 2014 and it's been pretty low key. I've been party planning and trying to organize my stuff. Party planning is going well. We got the invites out and in total their should be 28 people. 14 kids and 14 adults! I'm glad I decided to have the party elsewhere. No worries about cleaning up after. But I think the challenge will be getting everyone and everything there. I'm sure we will need the stroller as Ella and Harley are too little to skate. That right there makes it a second trip. I need to make a trip to party city and hopefully I will get to do that either tomorrow or friday. I think it would be too much to do Friday before the party. I really hope Kaylees friends that she invited show up to her party. Even just one of them.
Ella and Harley have been little turkeys the past two days and I think it has to do with the kids going back to school. Yesterday nap time was a disaster. They did not go down for a nap until 3:30 even though I put the down at 1. I hope today goes more smoothly and they actually go to sleep.
I need my day off tomorrow! I'm so exhasted. I hope work this evening goes quickly.
Better close this post,  twins are fighting.

Back to school

Winter break was far too short, the kids were made to get up bright and early this morning. I did not like this one bit. I was perfectly fine in my bed. I reluctantly got up and waited until 6 to wake the kids like I always do. I don't know why I wait that 30 to 45 minutes but I feel like they shouldn't need more than an hour and can benefit from the extra little bit of extra sleep. They all woke up fairly easy. Kaylee didn't want to go saying she don't like school but I told her that she was handing out her birthday invites and that helped in getting her up.
I got the kids to school and then back home for me to go back to bed. Going on 5 and a half hours doesn't work so I got about an extra hour and I woke up before the babies. I did a little cleaning in my room, it needs more but that will have to wait until a day off.
My first day with the kids back at school went ok, but felt too short. It wasn't long before it was off to work. One more day and then I can have a day off. Very ready for that day off too.

Kids

I thought I would write about the kids tonight!

Alexis is 13 and in the 8th grade. Sometimes it is hard to believe that I have a child in junior high much less a teenager. She had a rough start to the school year. She is in mostly advanced classes and began failing pre ap algebra. Right before the third six weeks she decided she needed to move to the regular math class and she says it is really boring because she already knows all of it. I think her favorite class is choir, she really excels at it. Boy I sure do love how she is outgoing, I have always been shy. So she sure didn't get that from me. She made so many new friends so quickly going into a new school. I'm so proud of her. She's always really helpful with the twins and sometimes Kaylee.

Michael Jr.  is 11 and in the 6th grade, next school year I will have 2 Jr High kids! He is doing really well in school and hardly needs help at all. I really hope he keeps it up. He really is a ham I tell ya,  always poking fun. He loves to help out with the twins but does have a fit about doing chores. He is kind and I am amazed at how he has grown. He is really good at video games, sometimes better than me.

Kaylee is 7 and in the 2nd grade. She will be 8 in a little over 2 weeks from now. We lucked out and she has the same 2nd grade teacher that Alexis and Michael had. I was almost jumping for joy at that. She is doing good in school, I get reports all the time that she tries really hard at her school work and will actually volunteer every now and then in class. I hope she keeps excelling. She is still mommas girl and I love that. Although I feel at time I may have babied her too much. She is shy but makes friends well, so I am glad for that.

Ella is 23 months old! She is such a cutie! She loves her brothers and her sisters. She is my mimic. She loves to repeat everything, which is very cute. She loves playing with all her toys and picking on Harley.

Harley is 23 months old! He is such a hammy! He is very quiet, not very talkative at all. He is very cute though when he shakes his head yes erratically!  He loves his sisters and his brother. He tries to avoid Ella since she likes to pick on him but you can tell the two do have an awesome bond.

So far

Well I've almost made it a week blogging! Pretty good if I say so. Today was a long day and tomorrow will be longer.  I got up early and we went grocery shopping but before we even left the house we had an injury. Ella in her excitement of waking up, hit her mouth on her crib and ended up poking a hole through her bottom lip.  She was fine thankfully and had minimal bleeding. It could have been so much worse. She is my accident prone twin. But she is the feisty one too.
We got groceries and imagine I only forgot one thing. We got back home to put everything away. We ate lunch. I relaxed for a bit and then it was off to work.

Check...check...check!

I got stuff done today and it feels so good to mark them off my never ending list! I scheduled doctor checkups for kaylee, Ella and Harley. Kaylee turns 8 on the 20th and the twins on the 30th this month. Poor kaylee will have her visit on her birthday. It's the best choice so she won't have to miss any school.
I also called and made reservations for Kaylees birthday party. That was pretty easy to do.
And then I sat down and addressed Kaylees birthday party invites and put them in the mail. I am so glad to get that stuff marked off my list.
Today was a pretty laid back day. I guess I should mention I paid bills and ordered a case for the innotab my sister gave me for the twins.
And I had to work today, I unfortunately won't be off work again until Wednesday.  I'm working 6 days straight and I'm going to be so exhausted considering we are back on school schedule come monday. I guess I will be counting down the days until spring break. I really need to make my grocery list as tomorrow morning will be my only time to go grocery shopping! Well I am off of here to get the twins to bed and figure out if I want to make that list or do shopping without the list... I better make a list or else my grocery bill will be huge.

Ugh

Well today has been a big kind of blah day. I got up really early and again for the second day in a row decided it was too early, so back to bed.  I got up at 8:30, that was more decent.
I started watching the walking dead episodes I had recorded last night. Then the twins got up. I fed them breakfast. While they were eating I was vacuuming the kitchen and dining. They were finally done and it was off to change diapers and clothes and clean up their breakfast mess. They played while I watched the rest of my show. Then I joined them playing with their toys. Ella really likes her leaptop we got her and loves to sit in your lap with it. Harley sees her in my lap and had to join us with his leaptop.
Then it was on to lunchtime. Some days I feel like I clean, feed and change diapers all day. After lunch it was nap time.  I laid the twins down and then I laid down for a movie with kaylee. And I drifted off for a nap myself that only last for about 30 minutes. I woke this morning with a sore throat and congestion. Oh it's so wonderful to be sick again.
After my nap it was time to get ready for work. Oh yay! So my day was pretty boring. I am glad that work went fast for me and I get to do it all again tomorrow.

1st day of the new year

Today was a pretty good day! I got up fairly early but quickly decided 7 am was too early so I drifted back to sleep. Finally got up for the day at 8:30 am, made a pot of coffee and decided I was going to buy a tote for the twins toys. They had a really nice shelf unit but we had to take it out of their room since I couldn't keep climber Harley off of it. So for the past month or so we have been dealing with their toys being on the floor. So I got the tote back home and it only took a few hours for Harley to figure out how to empty the tote. Momma got smart and put it in the closet where I hope he won't figure out how to flip it over again.
I've watched the walking dead marathon today and that's been good. It will be returning from its mid season break in February and I can't wait.
I made a really good dinner today of pork tenderloin, green beans and black eyed peas, oven roasted ranch potatoes, couscous, deviled eggs and rolls. It was a very delicious dinner.
Lexi is having a friend stay the night and Mikey is staying the night with a friend. Mikey and Lexis friends are actually brother and sister, which is pretty cool.
I've enjoyed the past two days off and I really don't want to return to work tomorrow but I know I have to.
I took the girls for ice cream after dinner. That was a nice treat. We really don't do that much so it was nice.
The kids go back to school this coming Monday and I really don't know if I want them to go, I've enjoyed having them home along with getting to sleep in.
